Date & Time:  Thursday, May 28, 2026, 12 pm PT/1 pm MT/2 pm CT/3 pm ET

About the webinar: Malingering is a common presentation within the psychiatric emergency rooms, but there is little published data or clinical guidelines regarding the management of malingering in emergency psychiatric settings. In this webinar, Dr. Eric Pan and Dr. Nicole Lentini will discuss the available data regarding malingering in psychiatric settings as well as a framework for the evaluation, management, and documentation of malingering and therapeutic discharge in psychiatric emergency room settings.

Webinar format: AAEP webinar moderators will kick off each session with a 15-30 minute introduction to the topic. The remainder of the session time is dedicated to open group discussion, allowing for deeper exploration and exchange of insights.

Moderators: Nicole Lentini, MD, and Eric Pan, MD

Dr. Nicole Lentini completed their general psychiatric residency and a forensic fellowship at Northwestern McGaw Medical Center. She is currently an Instructor of Psychiatry at Northwestern and serves as an attending psychiatrist embedded within Northwestern's emergency department. In addition to her emergency department role, Dr. Lentini operates an outpatient Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) clinic and performs forensic psychiatric evaluations for legal cases.
